Hi all,
I am beefing up my electrical system. the big 3 plus a higher output alternator. my question is I currently have the amp in the rear trunk. amp pushes 500w at peak. it is bridged into a single polk db 12 inch woofer in a sealed Q-form box. the woofer is in the front trunk, about a 10ft run. I have a single run of basic monster cable. I still have enough for another run. can i double up and improve sound quality, or is that a waste of time. Thanks. |

I may be misunderstanding you but:
1 - you have run power, gnd, and remote wire to the trunk where the amp is mounted. 2 - from the amp you have wired to your sub box. So at this point everything is working fine? 3 - What your asking is (this is the point i might be shady on) you want to re-run the same connections you already have and by doing so your hoping the sound quality will improve? In other words "double up" on your wires (2 hot, 2 gnd, 2 remote) ?? In most cases if you already have good wire gauges running you are simply wasting your time. In both my cars i use a hefty 4-8 gauge power/gnd and the standard 18-20 gauge remote wire. My old Tercel (now replaced with my RHD Celica) was running 1300watts on this setup. 2 amps running 6 channels. My Celica is now only powering my 2 10" subs with a 300watt amp. The Supra is waiting for the snow to thaw for the 1000 watt amp to be transplanted and Dual 12". I hope this helped, either that or i totally misunderstood what you were asking
